These two posters, produced for litho printing company First Impression, feature photographs by Richard
J Burbridge of iron filings reacting
to magnetic fields. The original photographs were black and white with further manipulation achieved
by reproducing the images as special colours.
The subject matter had no relevance to the printing industry but the
fine detail of the images tested the accuracy of the printing process
to the limit. We simply included the printers plant list underneath the images – no marketing text, just
sheer beauty and intrigue.
